The Program in Neuroscience provides formal doctoral and postdoctoral education in contemporary neuroscience, including the areas of cellular, molecular, developmental, systems, behavioral, and medical neuroscience. Among the Program's principal foci are cognitive neuroscience, developmental neurobiology, insect neurobiology, motor control, computational neuroscience and mathematical modeling, neural control of speech and language including neurogenic disorders, and neuroethology. The Ph.D. Program transcends traditional departmental boundaries, allowing students to enroll in a wide choice of courses, in addition to the Program's core courses in Neuroscience. Students have access to a broad spectrum of faculty research and laboratories in 19 departments housed in 6 colleges, the Arizona Research Laboratories, and the School of Health Professions of The University of Arizona, as well as at the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix.
