Cancer Biology: PhD

Cancer Biology bylaws Cancer Biology Departments Cancer Biology Faculty

Cancer Biology is the comparative study of the biology of normal and cancerous cells and tissues. The discipline includes the study of normal and tumor cell biology and biochemistry, cancer etiology, and biological rationale for cancer therapy and prevention. The Program offers course work and research opportunities leading to a Ph.D. degree in Cancer Biology. The curriculum introduces students to knowledge derived from research in the production, properties, and therapy of cancer and assures that students have the necessary background to enable them to do original research. First year students are supported by funds derived from training grants and donations to the Arizona Cancer Center. In subsequent years, students are supported through funds provided by their major professors.
