GIDP Poster Contest

Physiological Sciences

Winner: Maggie Keck.
Bio: I graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in biology from Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota, in 2003. After completing my undergraduate degree, I worked for one year as a junior scientist at the University of Minnesota, studying fetal lung development in the lab of Dr. David Cornfield. I am currently enrolled in the Physiological Sciences doctoral program at the University of Arizona, where I work in the lab of Dr. Heddwen Brooks. I am a 2005-2006 and 2006-2007 NSF-IGERT in Genomics fellow studying the effects of gonadal steroid hormones on the development of diabetic kidney disease. In my free time I enjoy singing in the University Community Choir, cooking, and running.
